We benefit the lives of young people and adults by educating them on key current health and social issues in a memorable way, and by inspiring them to move forward from the Chain Reaction experience to make positive informed decisions about their lifestyles, behaviours, attitudes and actions. In this way we help people create a better future, not only for themselves but also for their friends, collegues, peers and famililes, and the wider community.

Educational Theatre

We have a hugely successful track record of delivering professional theatre to schools and educational establishments; both teachers and pupils repeatedly ask us to come back and do more! We’ve created twelve original, educational shows designed for specific age groups between 5 and 16 years. Each one mixes comedy, song, dance and drama with vital messages and important facts. Through these shows and accompanying resources, we explore sensitive and controversial topics that seriously affect young people’s personal, social, emotional and economic health. FIND OUT MORE

Issue Based Workshops for Young People

We have an outstanding reputation for delivering targeted, intensive, issue-based workshops with young people aged 5 to 19. We work hard to make a real difference to the lives of young people, many of whom are disengaging from society, at risk of offending or have severe emotional and behavioural problems. Our tailor-made workshops are specially devised to meet the specific aims of a variety of different organisations and groups. They’re flexible, stimulating and boost confidence, whilst tackling a whole host of health and social issues, to help make a real difference to young people’s lives. FIND OUT MORE

But don’t just take our word for it! These are just a few examples of what other people say about our work…

“’Brilliant just keeps coming into my head’, says one of the health promotion specialists, searching
for new adjectives to praise the work of Chain Reaction Theatre Company. Featured in this
magazine a couple of years back, this company… is now well respected nationally …”
ninety-five per cent magazine, Issue no. 26
“What Chain Reaction did in ten minutes is more than I could have done in
a whole hour’s presentation. In terms of getting the message across…
and engaging the audience, it was perfect!”
Jane Brown, Diversity Manager, London Borough of Waltham Forest
“The staff and pupils were totally enthralled and thoroughly enjoyed the performance, the content
of which was extremely appropriate. We were also very impressed with the way your group was
punctual, efficient with your requirements and very pleasant to deal with!’’
Hazel Boutel, Headteacher, Pinewood Primary School, London Borough of Havering
“Pretty Please is easily one of the funniest, fluffiest concoctions to appear in a long time…
[A] lovingly crafted… hysterical, tawdry tale and thanks to brilliantly comic performances, the
whole is reminiscent of the League of Gentlemen with lip gloss… the aching sincerity of the
performances… really make this a great show with all the ingredients of a cult classic.”
The Stage
“The strength of Chain Reaction is their ability to engage with young people and sustain that level
of engagement throughout the intervention. The workshops are put together in
a fun way, and are readapted to suit all age groups, with current themes that maintain
a comedy aspect, whilst simultaneously transmitting and focusing on the
serious message they are conveying to their audience”
Anne-Marie Sabaroche, Youth Crime Prevention Coordinator,
London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Youth Offending Team
“I absolutely loved it and if I recorded it I would watch it again and again!”
Pupil, Marian Vian Primary School, London Borough of Bromley
“Thank you for a terrific monitoring report for our grant – and for the good work too! It’s good to
hear that Chain Reaction is reaching new audiences and delivering good work. Keep it up!”
Ciaran Rafferty, Principal Grants Officer, The City Bridge Trust
