Workshops in Mainstream Schools

“Positive feedback from talking to staff and students. Workshop was very
well organised and effectively targeted issues, and kept the attention of students.”
David Masters, Extended Schools Leader, Mayfield School and College,
London Borough of Redbridge

We offer our excellent issue-based workshops for a wide range of schools, educational establishments and services including:

  • Infant schools
  • Junior schools
  • Primary schools
  • Secondary schools
  • Colleges and Sixth Forms

Workshops Accompanying our Educational Shows

Most of our educational shows can be accompanied by an optional 1 hour workshop that caters for up to 60 young people. These workshops take place after a Chain Reaction educational performance and expand on the ideas and issues raised in the show. These sessions encourage the young people to think for themselves and to form their own opinions about the topic in question.

“I am writing to comment on the excellent performance of ‘Inside Out’. The pupils
thoroughly enjoyed the lively and contemporary performance. The piece was informative and
captured the interest of the pupils by relating to teenage problems, questions and pressures. Additionally the workshop was well thought out with maximum participation.
The whole experience was worthwhile and educationally sound.”
Mrs G. Davis, Head of Year 9, Moreton Community School, Wolverhampton

Other Workshops in Schools

Chain Reaction provides a variety of workshops in schools to tackle a number of different issues. In the past we have worked with schools on focus days, health weeks and as part of the citizenship, drama and PSHEE curriculums, the Healthy Schools Scheme, SEAL and Every Child Matters outcomes.

“You had loads of support and you could discuss your future. I liked the way we showed our
plays to the class and experienced other people’s lifestyles and gave ideas for jobs for them.”
Pupil, age 13, Jo Richardson School, London Borough of Barking & Dagenham
“Many thanks for your input into our Year 9 Health Day. The students really enjoyed it and responded very well to all the information given. As always you stimulated a lot of discussion.”
Mrs Wilson, Head of PSHEE, St Martin’s School, Essex

We also offer issue-based workshops for your Extended Schools Programme and provide PPA cover.

In addition to our work in mainstream schools, we also work with specialist educational establishments and services – click here for more info on our workshops for special schools, PRUs (Pupil Referral Units), Tuition Centres, R&R Units (Reception & Reintegration Units), YOTs (Youth Offending Teams), YISPs (Youth Inclusion Support Panels), and Behaviour Support Units.
